Digital Strategy Consultants Ltd (DSC) is committed to making digitalstrategy.ie accessible and usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities.

This statement applies to the pages, services, articles, forms and downloadable resources published on digitalstrategy.ie. It does not cover third-party websites reached through external links, which are managed by their respective owners.

Accessibility standard and current status

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as the target for this website. WCAG provides testable guidance for making web content more perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.

Based on the self-evaluation described below, the website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content or user journey may not yet fully meet the standard. This is not a claim of full WCAG conformance or independent certification.

Measures used to support accessibility

Accessibility has been considered in the shared design system, page templates and content model. Measures implemented include:

  • semantic page landmarks and a consistent heading structure;
  • a keyboard-accessible skip link, navigation and visible focus treatment;
  • responsive layouts designed to reflow across smaller screens;
  • text alternatives for meaningful images and hidden treatment for decorative graphics;
  • descriptive page titles, link destinations and form labels;
  • controls that expose names, states and relationships to assistive technology where appropriate; and
  • reusable components and automated regression checks intended to prevent accessibility features from being lost during updates.

How we assessed the website

DSC carried out a self-evaluation during the August 2026 rebuild. The work included code and component checks, review of semantic structure and heading order, keyboard and focus behaviour, responsive navigation, internal links, image alternatives and representative browser checks across the principal page templates.

The website relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SVG and WAI-ARIA where appropriate, together with compatible web browsers and assistive technologies.

The assessment completed to date was not a full independent WCAG-EM audit and did not include a complete screen-reader, voice-control or browser-and-assistive-technology matrix. Those checks remain part of the launch and ongoing improvement programme.

Known limitations and areas still being validated

Despite our efforts, some content or functionality may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Third-party services: Cookiebot and any externally supplied widgets or embedded content can change independently of the website. We monitor these services, but their accessibility may vary.
  • Downloadable documents: some historical PDF or Word resources may not have complete document structure, reading order or text alternatives. Contact us if you need a resource in another format.
  • Historical Insight content: older articles migrated into the new templates may contain complex tables, specialist notation or legacy wording that requires further manual review.
  • Contact form and anti-spam controls: the final Gravity Forms and Cloudflare Turnstile journey will be retested after the production configuration is complete. You can email us directly if the form presents a barrier.
  • Assistive-technology coverage: a complete screen-reader, voice-control, high-zoom and cross-browser assistive-technology review has not yet been completed.

We will update this statement as testing is completed and confirmed barriers are remediated.

Requesting help or an alternative format

If you cannot access content or complete an action, email info@digitalstrategy.ie. Tell us which page, document or function you need and the format or support that would help. Please do not include sensitive personal information unless it is necessary.

We aim to acknowledge accessibility requests within five working days. We will then explain the available alternative, proposed correction or expected timescale.

Reporting an accessibility problem

We welcome feedback about accessibility barriers. Email info@digitalstrategy.ie with the page URL and a short description of the problem. If useful, you can also tell us the browser, device or assistive technology involved.

We will record and investigate the issue, prioritise it according to its impact and let you know what action we can take. If we cannot provide an immediate fix, we will try to offer a reasonable alternative way to access the information or service.

Review and update control

This statement was prepared and last reviewed on 27 August 2026. We will review it after material changes to the website, when testing identifies a significant new issue and at least annually. The next scheduled review is by 27 August 2027.

This statement describes DSC’s current accessibility approach and evidence. It does not remove or limit any rights that may apply under law.
